LaneMate Legal
Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern access to LaneMate’s mobile apps, website, live scoring tools, stream sharing features, payments, event discovery, member services, and related support experiences. By creating an account or using LaneMate, you agree to these terms.
1. Eligibility and Account Responsibility
You may use LaneMate only if you can form a binding agreement, provide accurate information, and use the platform in compliance with applicable law. You are responsible for your account credentials, device access, and activity that occurs under your account. If you create or manage league, tournament, house, coach, or pro shop content, you represent that you are authorized to submit, publish, and manage that information.
2. LaneMate Services and Account Types
LaneMate may provide features including:
- Bowling session setup, score entry, shot tracking, saved history, and wearable-connected scoring
- League, tournament, bracket, coach, pro shop, and house discovery
- Private, guest-viewable, and public live-session sharing and related playback links
- Coach, member, admin, and pro shop profile tools
- Payments, subscriptions, event registration, receipts, payouts, and billing workflows
Features may vary by device, account type, region, or active subscription. We may update, improve, suspend, or remove features as the platform evolves.
3. Mobile App and Device Terms
If you use LaneMate on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, or other supported devices, you may use the app only on devices you own or control and only as permitted by the applicable platform terms. If you downloaded the iOS app from Apple, you and LaneMate acknowledge that this agreement is between you and LaneMate LLC, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app, its content, or support obligations beyond what law requires.
4. Paid Services, Billing, Auto-Renewal, and Refunds
Some LaneMate services require paid subscriptions, paid event registration, add-ons, or payment processing through third party providers. By enabling paid services, you authorize applicable charges, recurring billing where selected, and any taxes or fees associated with the purchase. Trial periods, holds, billing dates, and cancellation terms shown during checkout or in-app profile settings are part of the service terms for that purchase.
Paid memberships and other recurring services renew automatically until you cancel before the next renewal date. You are responsible for keeping your payment method current and reviewing plan, renewal, and cancellation details shown during sign-up, checkout, and in your account settings.
Refund eligibility may depend on the service type, event policies, administrative approval, and payment processor rules. LaneMate may suspend paid access for failed or disputed payments.
5. Event Admin, Coach, and Pro Shop Responsibilities
If you use LaneMate as an event admin, house operator, coach, or pro shop, you are responsible for the accuracy of the schedules, pricing, signup instructions, contact information, inventory, invoices, stream settings, and other content you publish. Event-specific terms, refund policies, and participation rules you set remain your responsibility, and they are in addition to these LaneMate terms.
6. Scoring, Streaming, and Shared Content
You are responsible for the content, scoring data, stream metadata, video, profile details, and event information you submit through LaneMate. If you enable guest or public viewing on a live session, you authorize LaneMate to display the shared event, bowler, score, and stream details according to the sharing level you selected.
You must have the rights and permissions needed to record, stream, publish, or share participants, venues, logos, tournament details, and other content. Do not upload or publish content that is unlawful, infringing, misleading, abusive, or violates the privacy or publicity rights of others.
You retain ownership of content you submit, but you grant LaneMate a non-exclusive license to host, process, display, transmit, and format that content as needed to operate the service, including stream discovery, scoreboards, public previews, playback, customer support, and product security.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use LaneMate to impersonate another person or organization
- Interfere with platform security, availability, rate limits, or access controls
- Scrape, harvest, reverse engineer, or misuse data beyond the intended product experience
- Post or transmit malware, fraudulent payment activity, spam, or illegal content
- Use shared live session features to expose private content without permission
8. Third-Party Services
LaneMate may rely on third-party providers for payments, messaging, authentication, cloud hosting, media delivery, analytics, mapping, calendar delivery, and other infrastructure. Those services may have their own terms, privacy policies, uptime characteristics, and eligibility requirements. LaneMate is not responsible for third-party outages or provider policy changes outside our control.
9. Intellectual Property and Feedback
LaneMate and its branding, software, workflows, and platform materials are owned by LaneMate LLC or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except for limited rights needed to use the service as provided, no ownership rights are transferred to you.
If you send feature suggestions, workflow feedback, product ideas, or improvement requests, you agree that LaneMate may use them without restriction or compensation to you.
10. Service Availability and Disclaimers
LaneMate is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We work to keep scoring, streaming, search, and billing tools reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, exact uptime, or error-free results. Timing, playback, scoring sync, wearable integrations, third-party payment systems, and external venue data may occasionally be delayed, unavailable, or incomplete.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LaneMate LLC and its affiliates, officers, employees, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, loss of goodwill, or event-related losses arising from your use of the platform. If liability cannot be fully excluded, LaneMate’s aggregate liability will be limited to the greater of the amount you paid to LaneMate in the preceding twelve months or one hundred U.S. dollars.
12. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access if you violate these terms, create security or fraud risk, misuse payment services, or use the platform in a way that harms LaneMate or other users. You may stop using LaneMate at any time. Certain records, receipts, support logs, and compliance data may be retained as described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Governing Law, Updates, and Contact
These terms are governed by the laws applicable to LaneMate LLC, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. We may update these terms to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. Updated terms become effective when posted unless a later date is stated. Continued use of LaneMate after updates take effect means you accept the revised terms.
